Last night a true television legend recorded his show for the last time as David Letterman said his final goodbyes on the Late Show on CBS. The reason why David was so good was his style from his self-deprecating humor to his laid back approach he never took himself too serious. There are too many funny moments over his long career on NBC and CBS to mention; But the most emotional had to be the first show back after the terror attacks of 9-11 and the emotion as well as anger he showed was how many of us were feeling at the time and, from a guy nearly always in control helped us get through it. David Letterman you will be missed and we wish you the best of luck in the future. [Video Courtesy of David Letterman, Worldwide Pants and CBS]
A new hidden camera reality show premieres tonight on NBC at 10pm. The show is called “The Real Wedding Crashers” and was inspired by the movie “Wedding Crashers.” In this show improv actors will go undercover and pose as things like wedding planners, waiters, guests or even long lost friends in an effort to pull off pranks on the unsuspecting party goers with the bride and groom the only ones let in on the pranks. If this sounds like an episode of MTV’s “Punk’d” that maybe because the show is produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg the producers of that show. Why would a couple sign up for this i have no idea, even if the producers pay for the wedding but it should be interesting to watch.

The second season of “America’s Got Talent” is set to return to NBC on May 29th with a two hour premiere starting at 9pm. This time around Jerry Springer will have the hosting duties instead of Regis Philbin. As of right now the shows original judges are set to return and, the show will move to its regular time of 8pm on Tuesday June 5th.
Tonight on NBC at 8pm is a special two hour “Deal Or No Deal” with a pair of female twins going for a special two million dollar jackpot. Its also ladies night and all the models have been replaced by men.
When “America’s Got Talent” returns this summer it will have a new host at the helm, Regis Philbin is out and Jerry Springer is in as host. The announcement that Regis Philbin was stepping down was made yesterday. Regis said in a prepared statement that the traveling back and forth between his syndicated talk show in New York and “America’s Got Talent” in Los Angeles was the reason he stepped down. This makes sense as Regis Philbin is not a young man and the traveling must have been tough on him. As of right now the judges from the 2006 edition David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Brandy are to return.
The new Irish American family drama “The Black Donnellys” is back tonight with its second episode. While the Donnelly family learns about Sean’s condition, Jimmy sits in a holding cell. Veteran entertainer and the man behind the long running syndicated game shows “Wheel Of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” Merv Griffin has created a new one for the fall called “Lets Play Crosswords.” The show already has clearance on five major NBC stations which gives it a big jump start. The show is being produced in high-definition and features the players answering questions with words that solve a crossword. Game shows on broadcast television have been a tough sell but with Merv Griffin behind this one it should get every chance possible to succeed.
NBC announced they have renewed “Las Vegas” for a fifth season starting in the fall. Now the bad news, the show will be back without two of its stars James Caan and Nikki Cox. James Caan wasn’t a complete surprise he had hinted in the past that he wanted to get back to making movies instead of television. The problem with James Caan leaving he was the anchor for the show and he was for the most part believable even as the story lines of the characters around him got sillier and sillier. Nikki Cox’s departure is more of a surprise and it seems she was let go because of budget cuts on the show. I like “Las Vegas” but since it was relegated to Friday night i don’t see it much and judging by the ratings im not the only one. In the past I never used to miss a show but because of the time slot and because the scripts are getting more and more far fetched its not must see for me. The show is still slick looking with a good cast but unless they can find a good replacement for James Caan and get back to basic good stories it could be tough for them. >>NBC at 9pm tonight
If you miss “The OC” already, one of the actors on that show is the female lead on the new NBC drama “The Black Donnelly’s” which premieres tonight at 10pm.
